Staff Sergeant Samuel Thomas Curry, Jr., a native of Loxley, Alabama, is a 1988 graduate of Robertsdale High School. As a student at Robertsdale High School, Curry ran track, played football and basketball. Upon graduation, Samuel attended Faulkner State Community College.
A man of integrity, courage, and conviction, Curry followed his passion for service and joined the United States Air Force. During his service in the Air Force, Curry was deployed to multiple countries including Iraq, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Egypt, Turkey, etc… and he was awarded numerous awards of service. Curry served faithfully in the United States Air Force for 18 years and he retired on April 27, 2013.
A man of law and order, Curry made history by becoming the first African American police in the City of Loxley, Alabama. As Loxley’s first African American police officer, he faithfully lived out the agency’s mission to fairly and aggressively enforce laws, reinforce public trust, and inspire public confidence. Samuel also served in law enforcement for the City of Robertsdale Police Department respectively.
A man of faith and family, Samuel is married to the love of his life of 28 years, Kimmi Jo, and he is a devoted father and grandfather. A man of excellence, Curry faithfully serves in his church and community.
